A native of Utah, Dr. Matheson Harris is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic plastic (oculoplastic) surgeon dedicated to both functional and cosmetic facial surgery.

His educational journey began locally at Dixie College and Southern Utah University before moving to Penn State University for medical school. Following an internship at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Harris completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He then refined his expertise during a prestigious two-year ASOPRS (American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) fellowship at the West Virginia University Eye Institute, gaining specialized training in orbital and lacrimal surgery, as well as eyelid and facial reconstruction.
Dr. Harris is deeply committed to advancing his field. In addition to being a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented research at several national meetings. As an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Utah, he helps train ophthalmology residents and works alongside Dr. Richard Anderson to mentor oculoplastic surgery fellows.
Previously serving veterans at the Salt Lake VA Medical Center, Dr. Harris currently accepts patients at both the Salt Lake and St. George offices.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Harris calls Salt Lake City home, where he lives with his wife and three children. The family loves staying active together, whether they are running, cycling, camping, or rock climbing. A true creative at heart, Dr. Harris is also a modern design aficionado who enjoys photography, drawing, woodworking, and learning the guitar.
