What Is ReLEx SMILE?

ReLEx SMILE uses advanced laser technology to correct your vision. Instead of creating a corneal flap like traditional LASIK, the laser forms a small, disc-shaped piece of tissue (a lenticule) inside the cornea, which your surgeon removes through a small side incision. This reshapes the cornea to correct your vision.

Procedure day
Numbing eye drops keep you comfortable. You may feel a little pressure from the suction ring while your surgeon uses the laser to create the lenticule and a small side incision, then removes the lenticule. The procedure typically takes less than 15 minutes.

Going home
You'll rest briefly in our recovery area. Arrange for someone to drive you home, and plan to take the rest of the day off from anything visually demanding, like screens, work, or reading. Use the prescribed eye drops as directed.

Recovery
Mild discomfort or light sensitivity for a few days is common. Many patients notice improved vision soon after surgery, though some blurriness for several weeks is normal. Avoid swimming and high-impact sports until your doctor clears you.
