A native of Utah and former Division Chief at the Moran Eye Center, Dr. Douglas Marx is a Board-certified Oculoplastic Surgeon specializing in complex adult and pediatric procedures for the eye socket, eyelid, and tear duct.

Dr. Douglas Marx is a Board-certified Oculoplastic Surgeon specializing in the full spectrum of eye socket, eyelid, and tear duct surgeries. A native of Utah, Dr. Marx began his academic journey at Brigham Young University before earning his medical degree from Georgetown University, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

He refined his surgical expertise during his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, where he received the Stephen N. Schindler Award for his commitment to ethical and humane standards. He then completed a specialized two-year fellowship at Oregon Health & Sciences University, earning the Distinguished Service Award while mastering the treatment of orbital, eyelid, and lacrimal diseases.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Marx is a dedicated researcher who has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He frequently presents his findings at national and international meetings and has served globally through humanitarian work with LDS Charities.

Dr. Marx brings a wealth of experience from top-tier academic centers to his private practice. His distinguished career includes serving on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, treating patients at Texas Children’s Hospital—one of the nation’s top pediatric hospitals—and serving as a team doctor for the Houston Rockets. Before establishing his current practice, he served as the Division Chief of Oculoplastics at the Moran Eye Center. He continues to handle complex adult and pediatric cases as an adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Utah and at Primary Children’s Hospital.
