Medicare-Approved Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and Laser Cataract
Our on-site, Medicare-approved ambulatory surgery center (ASC), EyeSurg of Utah, is one of the few centers specifically designed for laser cataract surgery. Our ASC is a highly specialized facility that provides same-day surgical care and offers patients a personalized experience that makes surgery much easier for them and their families. Hoopes Vision offers laser-assisted cataract surgery using the CATALYS® Laser System. The Catalys system is a perfect addition to our state-of-the-art facility. It replaces the hand-held tools used in the first steps of the traditional cataract procedure with a computer-guided laser. The laser performs these steps with precision up to 100 times greater than a handheld blade, leading to better wound healing and reduced risk of infection.
Pioneering Vision Correction Technology through Clinical Research

Its presence in our facility and its status as a major center for clinical trials help ensure that our surgeons always have a glimpse into the future of vision correction technology. Research activities translate into better outcomes for people with visual impairment and eye conditions. Our research staff are recognized for their insight and creativity in identifying opportunities in ophthalmology to pinpoint the most effective ways to organize, manage, and deliver high-quality eye care and improve patient safety.
